Ingredients
- 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese or cream cheese
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ounce semi-sweet baking chocolate
Directions
- In a bowl, place the instant coffee in the hot water and stir.
- Let the coffee mixture cool.
- In another bowl, beat the whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
- Chill the whipped cream in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- In a large bowl, mix the powdered sugar and the mascarpone cheese with a hand mixer until smooth.
- Mix the vanilla extract and at least 1 tablespoon of the coffee into the mascarpone mixture. If a stronger coffee flavor is preferred, add more of the coffee.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into coffee mixture.
- Place the tiramisu mixture in a gallon-sized resealable plastic bag fitted with a large round tip.
- Pipe a small amount of the tiramisu mousse in the bottom of each of the 4 serving glasses.
- Top the layer with a dusting of the cocoa powder.
- Continue layering the tiramisu and the cocoa powder until you reach the top of the serving glasses.
- Grate the baking chocolate over the tops of the serving dishes.
- Cover and chill until ready to serve.
