Bourbon Christmas Balls

Ingredients

For the bourbon balls:

  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla wafers, crushed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

For the toppings:

  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Directions

  1. In large bowl, add the wafers, the butter, the bourbon, the corn syrup, the vanilla extract, 2 cups of the confectioners’ sugar, 1/2 cup of the pecans, and the salt and stir to combine.

  2. Cover the bowl and chill until firm, about 30 minutes.

  3. In a shallow bowl or rimmed plate, add the remaining confectioners’ sugar.

  4. In a separate shallow bowl or rimmed plate, add the remaining pecans.

  5. In a third shallow bowl or rimmed plate, add the cocoa powder.

  6. Transfer the wafer mixture from the refrigerator and shape it into 1-inch balls. You should get about 30-33 balls.

  7. Roll 1/3 of the balls in the powdered sugar, 1/3 of the balls in the pecans, and 1/3 of the balls in the cocoa powder.

  8. Serve.
