Maple Whiskey BBQ Sauce


  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ⅓ cup maple whiskey (such as Crown Royal Maple®)
  • ⅓ cup apple cider
  • ¼ cup dark molasses
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt¼ teas
  • poon black pepper


  1. Combine ketchup, maple whiskey, apple cider, dark molasses, apple cider vinegar, pure maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Whisk together over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until thickened, 25 to 30 minutes. Sauce will thicken further upon cooling.

  2. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or freeze for future use.
